Competitive Team
What is Competitive Gymnastics?
|
- Increased speed, strength, coordination, vision, creativity, and responsiveness.
Competitive gymnastics is simply that. It is advanced Artistic or Trampoline and
Tumbling skills that athletes get to showcase in competition in the Ontario area.
Athletes from ages 5 and up are able to compete in different levels and categories
against other competitive athletes at a variety of host clubs in competitions
sanctioned by Gymnastics Ontario.
To be a part of the competitive team, an athlete must be invited to be
tested by one of the competitive coaches. The athlete will be advanced
in their group and exhibit certain potential and abilities to gain the
recognition of a coach recruiting for their team. The competitive
program requires dedicated athletes and parents who are willing to
train long hours, travel to meets, raise funds for their team and
participate in club events to promote the competitive team.
Our coaches are athlete centered and strive to direct each and every
athlete down the path of personal achievement and in the search of
excellence.
The benefits of being a competitive athlete
In competitive sports, athletes will learn and gain skills that will assist them as they grow and help them in dealing with daily life
situations. These are skills they can carry with them for the rest of their lives.
Windsor Vistas Gymnastics is very proud of all our competitive athletes and we wish them all good luck for the 2010-2011
gymnastics competitive season!!
Our Competitive Program consists
of three disciplines:
Artistic Gymnastics (This includes
Bars, Beam, Vault and Floor
routines).
Tumbling - Power Tumbling blends
the most exciting aspects
of an Artistic Gymnastics floor exercise with the dynamics of
Trampoline skills.
Trampoline - This is the newest of Olympic sports.Trampoline
requires tremendous leg strength, endurance and phenomenal
air sense (spatial orientation).
All routines are performed on high quality equipment that meets the standards and expectations of
Gymnastics Ontario. Trampolines are competition approved complete with Ross Beds, High Performance
Springs and Tapered Frame Pads.
Our programs are taught by Nationally trained and experienced Level 3
coaches who are dedicated to the sport of gymnastics and to
empowering athletes to reach their full potential.
